Abstract
In this project we build on the crowdfunding experiment that was done within the OBW project. The OBW experiment was abstract in nature, and with this project we translate the findings to practice. For this, we perform the same experiment in cooperation with Natuurmonumenten (a Dutch nature conservation agency), in which individuals are offered the possibility to invest in existing Natuurmonumenten projects. In the experiment we make use of the crowdfundingplatform that we developed within the OBW project. By doing this follow-up experiment we get insight into the practical relevance of our earlier findings, while Natuurmonumenten gets insight in the extent to which crowdfunding can be used to finance their projects. The knowledge developed is relevant for a broad range of organisations that wishes to use crowdfunding as an instrument to finance nature conservation or public good delivery projects in general. We will reach and involve these organisations by creating a crowdfunding network, which we will start by organizing a workshop. With this workshop we create an opportunity to present our findings and spread the knowledge obtained in the experiments, and we give other organisations the opportunity to share their experiences with crowdfunding, and potentially benefit from our experimental work.
