Abstract
The overall aim of the current project is to detect whether the strong appreciation of individuals for specific nature areas can be used to find new ways of community funding and support for these nature areas. The three main objectives are: First of all to involve a large number of respondents in the Hotspotmonitor, respondents who designate their most attractive natural areas on an online map. Second to build standardized websites for a selection of nature areas which will serve as the basis for online communities. Third to perform a series of experiments with online ?Hotspotcommunities? in the aim to find effective means of finance and support. The project is designed to be spatially explicit and quantitatively precise in relation to the cultural ecosystem services that nature areas provide, inclusive in its use of the internet to engage communities in collective action around nature areas, and authentic in its use of the power of customer engagement behavior.
