Abstract
Forest is multi-functional ecosystems, but a major function is not taken into account: the protective function against rock fall risks. The project aim is to incorporate tree mechanical behaviour in a spatial rock fall model in order to assess the efficiency of forest stands against rock fall and to produce management guidelines for sustainable rock fall hazard mitigation by mountain forests.
