Abstract
Summary Objective: To identify the more effective approaches for the assessment of human activities in the marine environment and to provide more transparency to stakeholders about how assessments are carried out. The project is divided into activity modules, each to deliver: a) Assessment techniques, methodologies and approaches to enable better and more transparent assessments of various human activities in the marine environment. b) Guidance documents for stakeholders and the wider public on the approaches used to assess and manage various marine activities Key Customer Purpose: The project is relevant to Defra MSED's policy responsibilities for managing and advising on the impacts of human activities in the marine environment and the MFA's delivery responsibilities. The results will be used by both Cefas/Defra/MFA and stakeholders involved in the permitting of human activities in the marine environment.
