Abstract
Description Monitor of Engagement with the Natural Environment (MENE) is a sample survey of the adult population which provides data on visits to the natural environment at regional and national levaI It ¡s currently being undertaken as part of a weekly in-home omnibus survey & provides information to support a range of Natural England and partners indicators. Objective The objectives of the survey are to provide estimates of the number of visits to the natural environment by the English adult population; measure the extent of participation in visits to the natural environment and identify the barriers and drivers that shape participation; provide robust information on the characteristics of visitors and visits to the natural environment;measure other ways of using and enjoying the natural environment; and identify patterns in use and participation for key groups within the population.
