Abstract
Summary Objectives To conduct a programme of genetic sampling of cod in the eastern Channel and southern North Sea to examine the evidence for stock separation during the spawning season and during the feeding season, thereby enabling identification of the extent of biologically-significant mixing between stocks as well as fisheries-significant mixing. Key Customer Purpose The data will be integrated with information on stock movements collected under ongoing fish tagging programmes, and will provide a valuable line of evidence for the justification of fisheries policy in this sea region.
