Abstract
Description: This is a financial contribution from Defra to a larger project. The UK Government and Devolved Administrations are committed to safeguarding biodiversity across the UK and contributing to efforts to reduce rates of biodiversity decline. Having a flexible framework of indicators is key to ensuring efficient, transparent and evidence-based reporting on progress towards targets at international, European, UK and country scales. This planned project is to provide an annual update of trends in butterfly and bat populations and an update to the priority species indicator, for inclusion in the UK and England biodiversity indicator publications. Objective: Data and analysis of trends in birds, priority species and invasive alien species for inclusion in the December 2015 updates to the UK and England Biodiversity Indicators.
