Description
The purpose of this call is to support teams of researchers that are considered to have a great development potential and the ability to develop ideas in strategically important research areas. The proposed research should preferably use a multi- or interdisciplinary approach, and be based on bold and innovative aims or theories. Eight research projects will be granted with an annual grant up to 5 MSEK for a maximum of five years, including indirect costs. The total costs of the project, divided into direct and indirect costs (overhead) should be described in the application. One research environment will be funded within each of the eight problem areas covered by Formas Evaluation Panels. 1/ Climate change 2/ The natural environment 3/ Use of natural resources 4/ Resource efficient products and processes 5/ Environmental pollution 6/ Food and animal welfare 7/ Urban and rural development 8/ The built environment Besides being relevant to the eight problem areas the research should also address at least one of the five prioritised areas from Formas Research Strategy 2009-2012: * Climate and energy * Natural resources and environment * Environmental technology and new materials * Urban and rural development * Quality of life for people and animals
