Description
Formas announces a call for proposals for research on forest raw materials and biomass – sustainable primary production, new materials and bio-based products for a bio-based economy. The call comprises two sub-calls: Research and development projects: 25 million SEK per year for 3 years (2014-2016). The proposals should address questions related to further refining of forest raw materials and biomass. International visiting researchers/postdocs: 10 million SEK during one year. Proposals can, besides further refining, also address questions related to sustainable primary production of forest raw materials and biomass. The overall aim of the initiative is to produce new knowledge that will contribute to the development of production, use, and further refining of renewable biomass. The specific aim of the sub-call for visiting researchers/postdocs is to increase research mobility and the establishment of new international collaborations. Co-funding with industry or other stakeholders (e.g. municipally owned companies) should be sought for the sub-call for research and development projects, where this is relevant and appropriate.
